CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis signed a one-year contract extension Friday, keeping him on the job through the 2015 season. Lewis has led the Bengals to three straight playoff berths, a first for the franchise that began play in 1968. But the Bengals are 0-5 in the playoffs under Lewis. His 90 career victories are the most in Bengals history by 26 over Sam Wyche (64). His record is 90-85-1 in the regular season. Lewis 11 seasons are the most for a Bengals head coach. "Im blessed to continue to do a job I love here in Cincinnati," said Lewis, 55. "I truly appreciate the commitment by our management to continue to enable us to build an NFL championship team." The Bengals went 11-5 last season and won the AFC North. They fell at home to San Diego in the wild-card playoff round after losses to Houston the previous two years in the opening week of the post-season. Still, Lewis has brought continuity and organization to the Bengals, even if they have not won a playoff game since the 1990 season. Lewis lost both co-ordinators in the off-season, with Mike Zimmer becoming head coach in Minnesota and Jay Gruden taking over in Washington. "Marvin has earned this commitment for the job he is doing," said Bengals president Mike Brown. "We are one of only five teams to qualify for the playoffs the last three years, and our prospects are bright looking ahead. He was 91. Golf Canada says Grimm died Monday. A former chairman of the Canadian Open, Grimm played a key role in growing the tournament and in the building of Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ont. Between 1965 and 81, he served as chairman of the Open on eight different occasions. He became director of professional tournaments for the Royal Canadian Golf Association (now Golf Canada) in 1983, a position he continued in until 1993 when he left to take on the role of Commissioner of the Canadian Tour. He was inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame in 1993. He also worked to bring about the building of the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame, located on the grounds of Glen Abbey. Grimm also helped expand the Canadian Tour (now PGA Tour Canada) in his role as commissioner of the circuit from 1993 to 97. To honour Grimm, PGA Tour Canada players and tournament officials will wear black ribbons at this weeks PC Financial Open at Point Grey G&CC in Vancouver. After retirement, Grimm served on a number of committees with the RCGA and the Golf Association of Ontario while also representing local golf courses and staying actively involved with the Golf Historical Society of Canada. "One of the greatest men in golf and one if my dearest friends, Dick Grimm will be sadly missed by the golf world," Canadian golfer Ian Leggatt said via Twitter.
